What a first session is like
What gets said, what does not yet, and what to expect from that first hour.
Many people put off a first session because they do not know what is expected of them. The answer is simple: nothing in particular.
The first minutes
You say what brings you here, in your own words, out of order if need be. I ask a few questions to understand the context: since when, in which situations, what you have already tried.
What I do
I listen, I rephrase, I tell you what I hear. I also explain how I work and at what rhythm we might meet. You can ask anything you like about my practice.
At the end
We decide together what comes next. A second session, a rhythm, or sometimes a referral to another professional if that is fairer to you. Nothing is committed beyond this first hour.
